What are your dreams made of? Making a mark in a foreign land or does it include getting a (many) degree from a renowned university in the US or UK? What about being able to enjoy a Capri Sun sitting by a lake in the U.S whilst you work on your college assignments and not just be at home?
There is no limit to what one can dream of, and since you have already made up your mind to explore opportunities abroad (that’s why you are here), there is no limit to achieving that as well. Studying abroad opens MANY gates for you- life, fun, knowledge, responsibility, independence. And Northgate, well, we open for you the gate to studying abroad.
Northgate stands for upwards and onwards. And to make it happen for all of its students, we have our own secret, of which you will become a part of, starting NOW:
1.Initial Assessment and Goal Setting
Oh! We will try to know you in and out. We will get YOU to know you in and out.
Our objective is not to frighten you, apologies on that. It is to make for you a personalized plan. Because your aspirations, academic background, and goals are what the college applications care about the most. And we can only present it to them in a way that won’t go unnoticed- this happens when there is no leaf left unturned on the tree of how you think, what you want, what you can get!
For that, we have our diagnostic test. No, we are not a bunch of doctors, and you aren’t our patient. We will only read and write to assess and talk to help build the foundation of your personalized plan.
2. Games
Let’s face it, we always want to go back to those playful summer days where there is no judgement for the games that made no sense at all.
Welcome to Northgate game zone– where fun and purposeful activities happen, where YOU pick questions and YOU ask the questions, and our mentors will only be your partner. The motive behind this is to make everything go by smoothly, because who would be comfortable talking with a stranger and be committed one whole year? Not us.
If you noticed, we said the games are purposeful too. You are welcome to make your guesses, but we will keep that a secret unless you join. C’mon, you’re still a stranger to us.
3.Personalized Mentoring
We understand you stay busy, more now than ever!! For that, we meet based on your availability. We perform based on your comfort. We improvise based on your needs and demands. Not all can grasp things in the same speed or in the same way and that is OKAY (a mentor in Northgate couldn’t spell renaissance until she was in the 11th standard. We get it). So, we take actions how you need us to take actions. And rest assured, however long we are together, our plan is to keep you focused and motivated.
And hydrated!
4.Feedback-Driven Growth
We believe in transparency. We function with regular feedback.
You will always stay updated about your progress. You will know everything- starting from your engagement level, your assignment status to your upcoming tasks.
This is also to keep your parents from feeling uninvolved and left out. Because, why not? Let’s honor them however we can. Pretty sure your parents will like it!
But it doesn’t mean we don’t consider how you feel about it. All that we do is, and always will be discussed with the student first.
5.Building Confidence Beyond Academics
If you have the confidence, you already have it all. But sometimes we flicker. And for those moments, our mentors will always be there.
Applying to so many colleges, writing so many essays, making sure all your extracurriculars are on point can get overwhelming, and time and again our mentors have always stood by their mentees- maybe not physically, but emotionally and virtually, YES.
This not only helps revive your confidence, but also helps in the overall growth of the student that will come handy in the future abroad.
