Understanding the TOEFL Exam

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a standardized exam designed to measure the English proficiency of non-native speakers. The TOEFL is offered in two formats: the Internet-based Test (iBT) and the Paper-based Test (PBT). TOEFL has a total score range from 0 to 120, with each of the four sections (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing) scored from 0 to 30. The scores are valid for 2 years from the test date. After 2 years, you must retake the test to demonstrate your English proficiency.
